CAIRO – 26 September 2021: On September 27 at 6 p.m., the Heliopolis Library will organize a symposium entitled “An Overview of Contemporary English Poetry”.

The symposium sheds light on poems from a book that bears the same title, “An Overview of Contemporary English Poetry”.

Head of the Heliopolis Library Nabil Helmy, stressed the importance and value of translators, as they work on a text that is not theirs, and seek to most accurately convey the meaning.

Helmy pointed out that throughout history, translation contributed to the transfer of knowledge. He further clarified that the translation movement into Arabic flourished during the era of the Caliph Abu Jaafar al-Mansur, who laid the first milestone for the movement, and Caliph Harun al-Rashid, who established Dar Al-Hikma in Baghdad as a translation center.
