CAIRO- 9 July 2017: The annual Nubian World Festival has been postponed to be held on August 1, 2, and 3 instead of July 7, 8, and 9 at El-Hanager Arts Center at the Cairo Opera House, according to a released statement by The General Nubian Club.

The statement mentioned that the festival was postponed due to maintenance works being held in the arts center that could take up to the entire month of July to be completed. The festival will be inaugurated in August featuring the same shows.

Despite the club’s announcement of the festival’s delay, The media office within the association of Young Men & Ladies of Nubia has declared in an interview with Egypt Today that the festival has been postponed for security reasons and because its timing clashed with the Chinese Festival, which was held on Friday July 7.

The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture, The Nubian Club for spreading culture, The Cultural Center for Nubian Heritage, and Arab Youth Association.

Featuring multi-disciplinary arts, the festival will showcase seminars, music performances, exhibitions for fine arts and literary works, among others.
