Egypt plans to organize many events that shed light on tourist, archaeological destinations

CAIRO - 18 May 2021:Dr. Khaled El Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, concluded his visit to Dubai, UAE  where he participated in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2021) held from May 16-19, with a series of media interviews with representatives of leading newspapers, channels and Television and Arab and international news agencies; including:  Reuters, The Associated Press (AP), Agence France-Presse (AFP), Sky News, Al Arabiya, Dubai One, Arab CNBC, CNN World News, Forbes and others.

 
During those interviews, the Minister stressed on the importance of Egypt's participation in the ATM, which contributes to promoting Egypt’s tourism in the Arab market.
 
This coincides the launch of a promotional campaign in this important market, especially in light of the gradual opening of travel in many Arab countries.
 
He added that this visit is an opportunity to inform the world, especially the Arab world, of what Egypt is doing during the current period to face the repercussions of the COV crisis and highlight the careful precautionary measures it is taking, where the minister reviewed the efforts made by the Egyptian state to support the tourism sector from the repercussions of this crisis to ensure the safety of workers in the sector, citizens and tourists, including measures taken to address this crisis's precautionary measures and hygiene safety controls, and its keenness to provide vaccination with anti-virus vaccines. 
 
He stressed that Egypt is applying these procedures and controls first-hand in its airports, hotels, resorts, tourist and archaeological places on a regular basis, and the ministry is sending regular inspection committees to ensure the extent of the commitment of these facilities to implement these procedures, pointing out that there are approximately 800 tourist hotels in Egypt that have obtained a hygiene safety certificate.
 
He talked about the gradual improvement in tourism coming to Egypt, especially since the beginning of this year, where the percentage of tourists coming to Egypt from the countries of the world in April 2021 reached nearly 50% more than in 2019, which confirms the confidence of the countries that received Egypt tourists in the Egyptian tourist destination and that it is a safe and distinct destination throughout the year where Egypt has various tourist offerings where the tourist can enjoy a distinct tourist experience in open places and warm sun and views Natural, picturesque beaches, museums and unique archaeological sites with a commitment to strict hygiene safety controls.
 
On the dual inter-tourism movement between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, the minister spoke about the good and close relations between the two countries at the official and public level, hoping that the rates of tourist traffic coming from the UAE to Egypt will increase in the coming period. 
 
Asked about his proposals to overcome the GLOBAL COV pandemic crisis, the minister stressed the importance of formulating clear mechanisms and identifying flexible ways to facilitate the movement of citizens between countries for tourism purposes.
 
The minister stressed Egypt's readiness and various tourist destinations to receive tourists from all over the world, and its ability to accommodate the reception of much more tourists than its received, where the Egyptian state is currently preparing a strong tourism infrastructure from the opening of new hotels and tourist resorts, and the establishment of new full tourist cities to be a tourist destination that works throughout the year summer and winter such as The Galala city on the Gulf of Suez, and the Alamein city , in addition to the opening of many museums and major archaeological projects.
 
He also pointed out the state's keenness to promote the integration of cultural tourism with beach tourism, through the establishment of a huge network of roads and express trains between the various Egyptian provinces, in addition to working to link the Red Sea to the Nile Valley on all its axes. 
 
Dr. Khaled El-Enany discussed the ministry's plan to promote tourism to Egypt in various markets, explaining the ministry's current and future plan in this regard, where the ministry is currently launching digital promotional campaigns on its social media platforms, in addition to its keenness to organize many induction visits through the invitation and hosting of a number of famous tourist writers, bloggers and influencers on various social media platforms from all over the world.
 
He also spoke about the ministry's keenness to organize many events that shed light on Egypt's tourist and archaeological destinations, such as the Pharaohs Golden parade, which caught the attention of the whole world. 
 
He explained that before the beginning of autumn this year, the ministry will launch an international promotional campaign for Egypt for three years after the end of the international alliance contracted by the ministry in January to prepare an integrated media strategy, where this campaign aims to promote tourism to Egypt more to attract more tourists to it.
 
In response to Egypt's role in restoring its stolen and smuggled antiquities abroad, the minister stressed Egypt's constant keenness to recover its stolen and smuggled antiquities abroad illegally, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and many countries, pointing out that the ruler of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates dedicated to Egypt 425 rare Egyptian artifacts from different eras dating back to before and after Birth, and Germany amended a set of texts in German legislation to protect foreign cultural property.
