Egypt’s megastar Mohamed Henedy expresses solidarity with people of Sheikh Jarrah

CAIRO - 10 May 2021: Veteran Egyptian comedian Mohamed Henedy expressed solidarity with people of Sheikh Jarrah.

 

‎” While you are sitting now comfortably in your house, there are people who are forced to migrate and were kicked in the street and left their homes, they left their land, memories and future, while the whole world is silent and ignoring what is happening .. We must stand by their side and transfer their voice to the whole world” Henedy tweeted.

 

Social media users from around the world have uploaded and shared videos and images about the Israeli attacks, using the hashtag #SaveSheikhJarrah.

 

It is worth mentioning that Henedy’s upcoming movie  ‘El Ins w el Nems’ to be released soon.

Henedy and Menna Shalaby co-star in ‘'El Ins w el Nems’' movie. 


The two stars started shooting their scenes in 2020 inside veteran director Sherif Arafa studio while following all the precautionary measures to combat the spread of coronavirus. 

The movie will start with a flash back scene performed by Henedy in the 1950s, inside an old house, where he embodies the role of a man named Nems. 

Beside Henedy and Shalaby, ‘’El Nems w el Ins’’ stars: Sabrine, Amr Abdel Geliel, Mahmoud Hafez, Bayoumi Fouad among others. The movie is directed by veteran director Sherif Arafa. 

Mohamed Henedy is an Egyptian comedian who is known for his unique comical style.

 

He began his artistic career through university theater, then took on small television roles, until he was chosen by director Youssef Chahine, who assigned him a role in some of his films during the late 1970s. 

In the late 1990s, Henedy had already become a staple name in the Egyptian cinema, confirming his talent and presence as a comedian. 

Henedy is also famous for his successful plays, some of which are considered theatrical hits in 20th century Egyptian theater. 

Henedy was the Egyptian recipient of the Career Achievement Award from the third edition of El Gouna Film Festival for his significant contribution to cinema. 


After a 16-year hiatus, Henedy returned to the theatre with his latest play "Talat Ayam Fe el Sahel’’ ( Three Days in North Coast). The first show of the play was on January 10, 2019. 

"Talat Ayam Fe el Sahel" houses notable cast: Ahmed Fathy, Nada Moussa, Mohamed Sarwat, Maha Abou Ouf, Bayoumi Fouad, Samia el Taraboulsi among others.The show is written by Hatem Hussein and directed by Magdy el-Hawary. 


Henedy participated in MDL Beast Festival 2019 that kicked off in Saudi Arabia on December 21, 2019.
