EGX ends mid-week session in green, market cap. gains LE5.9B

CAIRO – 24 November 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday session in green, adding LE 5.9 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 hiked 1.03 percent, or 112.24 points, to close at 10,997.35 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 1.59 percent, or 34.56 points, to end at 2,201.89 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.19 percent, or 24.29 points, to close at 2,064.56 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.28 percent, or 38.09 points to 3,010.82 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 5.9 billion, recording LE 638.49 billion, compared to LE 632.51 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 752.44 million shares, traded through 54,256 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.83 billion. 

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 27.18 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 15.52 million, and LE 11.66 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, and Foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 28.63 million, and LE 527,446, respectively, while Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 11.43 million.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 44.15 million , and LE 230,613, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 26.65 million.

 

Pyramisa Hotels, The Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy - Panda, and Emerald Real Estate Investment  were top gainers of the session at 10 percent, 9.97 percent and 9.21 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Mohandes Insurance, El Obour Real Estate Investment, and Mansourah Pourtly were top losers of the session by 7.80 percent, 5.48 percent, and 5.07 percent, respectively.
