EGX ends Sunday in red, market cap. loses LE1.75B

CAIRO – 15 November 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday session in red, losing LE 1.75 billion of market capitalization, amid Arab selling.

 

The benchmark EGX30 declined 0.58 percent, or 64.15 points, to close at 10,953.13 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 dipped 0.16 percent, or 3.48 points, to end at 2,115.39 points.

 

Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 lessened 0.09 percent, or 1.81 points, to close at 1,990.43 points, and the broader index EGX 100 inched down 0.02 percent, or 0.61 points to 2,911.58points.

 

Market capitalization lost around LE 1.75 billion, recording LE 627.23 billion, compared to LE 628.98 billion in Thursday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 344.47 million shares, traded through 43,346 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.2 billion. 

 

Arab investors were net sellers at LE 46.43 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 31.25 million, and LE 15.18 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 43.62 million, and LE 23.26 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 228,425.

 

Egyptian, and foreign organizations bought at LE 74.87 million , and LE 14.95 million, respectively, while Arab organizations sold at LE 23.16 million.

 

Saudi Egyptian Investment & Finance, Natural Gas & Mining Project (Egypt Gas), and Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment were top gainers of the session at 10 percent, 9.99 percent and 9.93 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, National Housing for Professional Syndicates, Ismailia Misr Pourtly, and Gharbia Islamic Housing Development were top losers of the session by 7.83 percent, 7.71 percent, and 7.68 percent, respectively.

 

On Thursday, EGX ended trading in green, as: EGX30 rose 0.18 percent, EGX 50 climbed 0.76percent,  EGX 70 rose 0.78 percent, and EGX 100 hiked 0.81 percent.
