EGX ends Monday on mixed note, market cap. gains LE 1.12B

CAIRO – 12 October 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday on mixed note, adding LE 1.12 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling. 

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.33 percent, or 37.28 points, to close at 11,397.65 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.32 percent, or 6.81 points, to end at 2,158.60 points.

 

On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 dipped 0.75 percent, or 15.15 points, to close at 2,006.62 points, and the broader index EGX 100 dropped 0.45 percent, or 13.41 points to 2,847.60 points. 

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 1.12 billion, recording LE 633.68 billion, compared to LE 632.55 billion in Sunday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 450.38 million shares, traded through 49,054 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.57 billion. 

 

Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 57.82 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 23.94 million, and LE 33.87 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 43.08 million, LE 11.7 million, and LE 109,538, respectively.

 

Arab and foreign organizations bought at LE 12.23 million, and LE 33.76 million, respectively, while Egyptianorganizations sold at LE 100.9 million.

 

Misr Hotels, Nasr Company for Civil Works, and International Co for Investment & Development were top gainers of the session at 18.39 percent, 11.58 percent and 9.26 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Reacap Financial Investments, Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool, and Prime Holding were top losers of the session by 8.77 percent, 8.33 percent, and 7.90 percent, respectively.

 

On Sunday, EGX ended the session in green, as : EGX30 rose 0.29 percent, EGX50 increased 1.29 percent, EGX70 hiked 0.78 percent, and EGX100 climbed 0.97 percent.
