EGX starts week in green, market cap. gains LE 1.4B

CAIRO – 11 October 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday in green, adding LE 1.4 billion to market capitalization, amid Arab buying.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.29 percent, or 33.39 points, to close at 11,360.37 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 1.29 percent, or 27.48 points, to end at 2,151.79 points.

 

Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.78 percent, or 15.67 points, to close at 2,2021.77 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.97 percent, or 28.46 points to 2,961.01 points. 

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 1.4 billion, recording LE 632.55 billion, compared to LE 631.15 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 543.73 million shares, traded through 49,894transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.67 billion. 

 

Arab investors were net buyers at LE 136.23 million, while Egyptian and foreigninvestors were net sellers at LE 128.7 million, and LE 7.5 million, respectively. 

 

Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 120.22 million, and LE 962,387, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 41.83 million.

 

Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 86.88 million, and LE 8.5 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought at LE 16 million.

 

Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad), South Cairo & Giza Mills & Bakeries, and Medinet Nasr Housing were top gainers of the session at 13.10 percent, 9.99 percent and 9.04percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Arab Aluminum, National Bank Of Kuwait- Egypt- NBK, and Arab Real Estate Investment CO.-ALICO were top losers of the session by 8.67 percent, 8.40percent, and 7.41 percent, respectively.
