CAIRO – 6 October 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended mid-week session in green, adding LE 7.9 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab buying.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.26 percent, or 138.49 points, to close at 11,146.18 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 1.56 percent, or 32.25 points, to end at 2,096.69 points.

 

Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.56 percent, or 30.58 points, to close at 1,992.76 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.65 percent, or 47.08 points to 2,902.76 points. 

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 7.9 billion, recording LE 628.23 billion, compared to LE 620.81 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 370.34 million shares, traded through 44,784 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.33 billion. 

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 48.46 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 14.59 million, and LE 33.87 million, respectively. 

 

Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 57.98 million, and LE 10.25 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 39.96 million.

 

Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 24.11 million, and LE 58.71 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 54.55 million.

 

Egyptian Iron & Steel, TransOceans Tours, and National Real Estate Bank for Development were top gainers of the session at 13.14 percent, 9.80 percent and 9.73 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co., General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction and Paint & Chemicals Industries (Pachin) were top losers of the session by 5.37 percent, 3.83 percent, and 2.15 percent, respectively.
