EGX ends Sunday on mixed note, market cap. gains LE 3.9B

CAIRO – 4 October 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday on mixed note, adding LE 3.9 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.18 percent, or 20.16 points, to close at 11,071.46 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.24 percent, or 4.92 points, to end at 2,095.9 points.

 

On the Other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 dipped 0.42 percent, or 8.49 points, to close at 2,014.27 points, and the broader index EGX 100 declined 0.21 percent, or 6.29 points to 2,921.76 points. 

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 3.9 billion, recording LE 624.78 billion, compared to LE 620.85 billion in Thursday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 339.61 million shares, traded through 40,359 transactions, with a turnover of LE 950.3 million. 

 

Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 9.68 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 1.95 million, and LE 7.73 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 16.98 million, and LE 3.01 million, respectively, while Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 2.08 million.

 

Egyptian, and Arab organizations sold at LE 26.67 million, and LE 1.06 million, respectively, while foreign organizations bought at LE 9.82 million.

 

Arab Aluminum, Prime Holding, and Glaxo Smith Kline were top gainers of the session at 9.82 percent, 9.41 percent and 8.26 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Company for Construction Development-Lift Slab, Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co., and Nasr Company for Civil Works  were top losers of the session by 13.51 percent, 9.96 percent, and 8.11 percent, respectively.

 

On Thursday, EGX ended the session in green, as: EGX30 rose 0.56 percent, EGX 50 increased 1.53 percent, EGX 70 hiked 0.97 percent, and EGX 100 climbed 1.10 percent.
