EGX ends Tuesday on mixed note, market cap. loses LE 1B

CAIRO – 25 August 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s session on mixed note, losing LE 1.01 billion of market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.24 percent, or 27.86 points, to close at 11,461.62 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 inched up 0.08 percent, or 1.49 points, to close at 1,755.46 points.

 

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 dropped 0.26 percent, or 5.20 points, to end at 2,014.49 points, and the broader index EGX 100 dipped 0.04 percent, or 1.10 points to 2,656.11 points. 

 

 

Market capitalization lost around LE 1.02 billion, recording LE 628.06 billion, compared to LE 629.08 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 533.7 million shares, traded through 46,070 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.69 billion. 

 

Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 85.23 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 4.23 million, and LE 81 million, respectively. 

 

Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 4.23 million, while  Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 12.23 million, and LE 664,352, respectively.

 

Egyptian organizations bought at LE 81.67 million, while Egyptian and Arab sold at LE 73 million, and LE 5,708, respectively. 

 

B Investments Holding, Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing, and Raya Contact Center were top gainers of the session at 9.85 percent, 9.43 percent and 8.37 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Osool ESB Securities Brokerage, Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co, and EL Ezz Aldekhela Steel – Alexandria were top losers of the session by 9.51 percent, 6.87 percent, and 4.88 percent, respectively. 

 

EGX ended Monday in green as: EGX30 rose 2.45 percent, EGX50 increased 2.73 percent, EGX 70 climbed 3.61 percent, and EGX 100 inched up 3.32 percent.
