EGX ends Tuesday in green amid Egyptian, foreign purchases

CAIRO – 21 July 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended mid-week session in green, adding LE 5.04 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and foreign buying.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.71 percent, or 177.9 points, to close at 10,558.35 points. 

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 1.27 percent, or 22.23 points, to end at 1,778.06 points. 

  

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 2.05 percent, or 29.71 points, to close at 1,475.7 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.94 percent, or 43.07 points to 2,266.81 points. 

 

Market capitalization gained LE 5.04 billion, recording LE 578.38 billion, compared to LE 573.34 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 382.15 million shares, traded through 38,280 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.27 billion. 

 

Arab investors were net sellers at LE 22 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 6.83 million, and LE 15.17 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 31.44 million, LE 21.88 million and LE 1.64 million, respectively.

 

Arab organizations sold at LE 123,724, while  Egyptian and foreign organizations bought at LE 38.27million, and LE 16.81 million, respectively. 

 

Porto Group, Egypt for Pourtly, and Prime Holding were top gainers of the session at 9.28 percent, 9.27 percent and 7.77 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Egyptian International Tourism Projects, Saudi Egyptian Investment & Finance, and Ibnsina Pharma were top losers of the session by 9.95 percent, 8.61 percent, and 7.85 percent, respectively. 

 

EGX ended Monday in green as: EGX30 rose 0.97 percent, EGX 50 increased 1.64 percent, EGX 70 hiked 2.60 percent, and EGX 100 jumped 2.13 percent.
