CAIRO – 12 July 2020: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said, Sunday, that the state will impose more firm and stronger conditions for issuing building license, in order to stop the unplanned construction.

 

Sisi added, in a commentary on his speech to the Minister of Housing during the opening of some projects: "As a result of the unplanned construction, people were adopting under high pressure lines, and this was very affecting the public health, so we said that the program is among its goals to eliminate all risks, including this danger."

 

He continued: "Regardless of the efficiency of the housing, we said that we will unload these cables from the buildings of the people and put them underneath, so that we can work like that. The cost was almost LE750 million."

 

"Let us stop the issue of unplanned construction and start organizing our country, the people who want apartments will take apartments, and the people who want to do projects and sell to people, we will make them work, but frankly, we will be firm and the building requirements will be in the utmost firmness until we overcome what we are in,” Sisi added.

 

President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi inaugurated on Sunday a number of national megaprojects, including the Al-Asmarat 3 housing project in Cairo's Mokattam district, which was established to house residents of slums.

The inauguration ceremonies are attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal and a number of ministers.
