CAIRO - 21 June 2020: The House of Representatives has approved a grant from the Trust Fund for Statistical Capacity Building (TFSCB), which is run by the World Bank, to upgrade statistical work in Egypt.

The TFSCB will support efforts by Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) to outline a national strategy to achieve that.

Worth 160,000 dollars, an agreement to that effect was signed between the Egyptian government and World Bank on December 17.

International Cooperation Minister Rania el Mashaat said Sunday experts are assessing the process and overseeing measures to hone skills of a team tasked with outlining the national strategy.

She praised efforts exerted by CAPMAS to contribute to the development of Egypt through its reliable statistics and data that are up to international standards.
