CAIRO – 17 May 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) entered the green zone during Sunday, adding LE 3.56 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian buying.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.68 percent, or 70.23 points, to close at 10,357.44 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 0.68 percent, or 10.23 points, to end at 1,508.51 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 increased 1.22 percent, or 13.52 points, to close at 1,125.7 points, and the broader index EGX 100 hiked 0.95 percent, or 17.29 points to 1,836.45 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 3.56 billion, recording LE 548.45 billion, compared to LE 544.88 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 147.71 million shares, traded through 21,233 transactions, with a turnover of LE 371.33 million.

Egyptian investors were buyers at LE 49.11 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 4.06 million, and LE 45.04 million, respectively.

Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 24.71 million, while Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 1.11 million, and LE 1.93 million, respectively.

Egyptian organizations bought at LE 24.39 million, while Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 2.95 million, and LE 46.97 million, respectively.

Misr Hotels, Suez Canal Bank S.A.E, and Emerald Real Estate Investment were top gainers of the session at 9.96 percent, 9.94 percent and 9.80 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Osool ESB Securities Brokerage, Arab Valves Company, and Misr National Steel – Ataqa were top losers of the session by 9.89 percent, 4.75 percent, and 3.90 percent, respectively.

On Thursday, EGX ended the session in red, as: EGX30 dipped 1.05 percent, EGX 50 dropped 1.23 percent, EGX 70 decreased 0.13 percent, and EGX 100 lessened 0.58 percent.
