EGX ends week in green, market cap. gains LE 3.39B

CAIRO - 24 October 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended last session of the week in green, adding LE 3.39 billion to market capitalization, amid foreign organization purchases.

The benchmark EGX 30 rose 0.57 percent, or 80.16 point, to close at 14,206.67 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.74 percent, or 14.89 points, to end at 2,040.48 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.40 percent, or 2.14 points, to close at 530.88 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 0.45 percent, or 6.35 points, to 1,406.5 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 3.39 billion, recording LE 713.63 billion, compared to LE 710.23 billion in Wednesday’s session.

The trading volume reached 300.81 million shares, traded through 17,495 transactions, with a turnover of LE 686.67 million.

Foreign investors were net buyers at LE 13.43 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers at LE 7.11 million, and LE 6.32 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 8.02 million, and LE 2.99 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 1 million.

Egyptian and foreign organizations bought at LE 911,690, and LE 12.42 million, respectively, while Arab organizations sold at LE 3.33 million.

Gharbia Islamic Housing Development, Egyptian Arabian (cmar) Securities Brokerage EAC, and GMC Group for Industrial, Commercial & financial Investments were top gainers of the session by 9.87 percent, 9.87 percent and 9.06 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Export Development Bank of Egypt (EDBE), Raya Contact Center, and The Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy – Panda were top losers of the session by 10.88 percent, 9.94 percent, and 9.79 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Wednesday’s session in red, as EGX 30 declined 0.53 percent, EGX 50 dipped 1.21 percent, EGX70 decreased 1.21 percent, and EGX 100 lessened 0.98 percent.
