CAIRO – 29 August 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday's session in green for the second session in row, adding about LE 7.28 million to market capitalization, amid foreign purchases.

The benchmark EGX 30 hiked 1.64 percent, or 239.85 point, to close at 14,835.36 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.51 percent, or 10.99 points, to end at 2,172.58 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 inched up 0.40 percent, or 2.2 points, to close at 553.34 points, and the broader index EGX 100 increased 0.53 percent, or 7.63 point, to 1,455.08 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 7.28 million, recording LE 770.24 billion, compared to LE 762.96 billion in Wednesday's session.

The trading volume reached 216.05 million shares, traded through 24,872 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.31 billion.

Foreign investors were net buyers at LE 153.65 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers at LE 132.14 million, and LE 21.51 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 81.24 million, and LE 36.94 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 1.60 million.

Egyptian organization sold at LE 50.9 million, while Arab and foreign organization bought LE 15.43 million, and LE 152.04 million, respectively.

Gharbia Islamic Housing Development, Egyptian Financial & Industrial, and Export Development Bank of Egypt (EDBE) were top gainers of the session by 9.98 percent, 8.47 percent and 6.54 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co, GMC Group for Industrial Commercial & Financial Investment, and Delta Construction & Rebuilding were top losers of the session by 4.85 percent, 3.89 percent, and 3.22 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Wednesday's session in green, as EGX30 hiked 2.18 percent, EGX50 rose 1.09 percent, EGX70 inched up 1.29 percent, and EGX100 increased 1.43 percent.
