CAIRO – 26 June 2019: China-Egypt bilateral trade volume recorded$5.43 billion in the first five months of 2019, marking an increase of 5.8 percent on a year-on-year basis, according to official Chinese statistics.

The General Administration of Customs of China said Wednesday that China's exports to Egypt hit $4.87 billion in January-May period of 2019, while Chinese imports from Egypt reached $0.56 billion during the same period.

The volume of trade between China and Egypt during May hit 41.24 billion, out of which$1.14 billion represented exports from China to Egypt, and $100 million were the Chinese imports from Egypt.

The latest economic report on Egyptian-Chinese trade and economic relations prepared by the Commercial Representative Office in Beijing showed earlier this month that trade exchange between Egypt and China increased 27.6 percent during 2018, recording $13.8 billion.

The report revealed that the Egyptian exports exceeded $1.8 billion during 2018, with an increase of 37.8 percent on a year-on-year basis.

It said that the economic and trade relations between Egypt and China have witnessed steady growth since upgrading of the joint relations to the level of strategic partnership after the visit of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to China in 2014.

CAIRO -17 June 2019: Trade exchange between Egypt and China increased 27.6 percent during 2018, recording $13.8 billion, according to the latest economic report on Egyptian-Chinese trade and economic relations. The report, prepared by the Commercial Representative Office in Beijing headed by Minister of Trade Commissioner Mamdouh Salman, revealed that the Egyptian exports exceeded $1.8 billion, with an increase of 37.8 percent on a year-on-year basis.
