CAIRO – 23 June 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started the week in red, marking the fourth consecutive regressive session, adding about LE 251.63 million to market capitalization, amid Arab and foreign selling.

The benchmark EGX 30 declined 0.19 percent, or 26.08 points, to close at 14,017.34 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 decreased 0.27 percent, or 5.5 points, to close at 2,067.4 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 decreased 0.03 percent, or 0.2 points, to close at 602.15 points, and the broader index EGX 100 inched down 0.08 percent, or 1.19 point, to 1,535.7 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 251.63 million, recording LE 750.51 billion, compared to LE 750.25 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 57.77 million shares, traded through 9,642 transactions, with a turnover of LE 254.34 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 31.64 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 15.24 million, and LE 16.41 million, respectively.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 15.97 million, LE 2.35 million and LE 558,929, respectively.

Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 17.59 million and LE 16.96 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 15.67 million.

El Kahera Housing, Arab Pharmaceuticals, and Edita Food Industries S.A.E were top gainers of the session by 9.67 percent, 5.43 percent and 5.26 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment, Modern Company for water proofing (Bitumode), and Middle & West Delta Flour Mills were top losers of the session by 7.17 percent, 6.57 percent, and 5.56 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session in red for the third session in row, as EGX30 declined 0.63 percent, EGX50 decreased 0.68 percent, EGX70 dropped 0.25 percent, and EGX100 inched down 0.32 percent.
