BEIJING - 26 April 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi said Egypt is keen to remove various obstacles that may face the Chinese companies working in the country with the aim of enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Cairo and Beijing, promoting joint investments and beefing up the Chinese investments in Egypt.

During his meeting with Chinese businessmen at his residence in Beijing, President Sisi lauded China's development experience, which he described as a unique economic model that is based on maximizing the role of knowledge and technological innovation, voicing Egypt's keenness to benefit from this experience.

President Sisi highlighted various investment opportunities offered by the ongoing mega projects in the country, topped by the Suez Canal Development Corridor which includes the Chinese industrial zone along with major industrial and logistic zones.

Sisi pointed out to the Egyptian-Chinese deeply-rooted and solid strategic relations, Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi said.

Sisi also welcomed getting into partnerships with Chinese companies.

Meanwhile, heads and representatives of the Chinese companies commended the positive changes taking place in Egypt as well as the growing activity of the Egyptian market.

They welcomed intensifying cooperation with Egypt to serve common interests. They also reviewed their investment plans in Egypt.
