CAIRO - 24 February 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in red for the second consecutive session, and market capitalization lost LE 9.15 billion, amid foreign selling.

The benchmark EGX30 declined 1.26 percent, or 191.13 points, to close at 14,955.58 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 lessened 0.87 percent, or 21.61 points, to reach 2,448.18 points.

Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 decreased 0.33 percent, or 2.35 points, to 714.81 points, and the broader index EGX100 dropped 0.45 percent, or 8.16 points, to close at 1,803.46 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 9.15 billion, recording LE 827.11 billion, compared to LE 836.26 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 184.56 million shares, traded through 20,001 transactions, with a turnover of LE 527.03 million.

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 27.33 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 9.15 million and LE 18.17 million, respectively.

Foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 724,228, while Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 26.98 million, and LE 7.89 million, respectively.

Arab organizations bought at LE 10.27 million, while Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 17.82 million, and LE 26.6 million, respectively.

Lecico Egypt, El Nasr for Manufacturing Agricultural Crops, and Amer Group Holding were top gainers of the session by 8.65 percent, 8.05 percent and 4.41 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Qatar National Bank Alahly, El Ahram Co. for Printing and Packing, and GB AUTO were top losers of the session by 3.86 percent, 3.82 percent, and 3.75 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session in red, as EGX30 declined 0.44 percent, EGX50 dropped 0.39 percent, EGX70 lessened 0.35 percent and EGX100 decreased 0.38 percent.
