CAIRO – 21 January 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday on mixed note, and market capitalization gained LE 2.2 billion, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 hiked 0.97 percent, or 130.78 points, to close at 13,574.99 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 rose 0.03 percent, or 0.66 points, to reach 2,177.24 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.02 percent, or 0.27 points, to close at 1,701.76 points.

On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 dipped 0.01 percent, or 0.08 points, reaching 674.79 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 2.23 billion, recording LE 766.89 billion, compared to LE 764.66 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 116.55 million shares, traded through 20,229 transactions, with a turnover of LE 742.09 million.

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 66.46 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 32.67 million and LE 33.79 million, respectively.

Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 2.7 million and LE 173,756, respectively, while Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 25.2 million.

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 35.4 million and LE 8.59 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold LE 66.28 million.

Egyptian International Tourism Projects, Sues Canal Company for Technology Settling, and Universal for Paper and Packaging Materials (Unipack) were top gainers of the session by 12.47 percent, 9.99 percent and 7.77 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Torah Cement, Kafr El Zayat Pesticides, and Egypt Aluminum were top losers of the session by 8.06 percent, 7.29 percent, and 4.52 percent, respectively.

EGX announced on Sunday that the bourse will be off on January 24, on the occasion of the January 25th revolution and Police Day. The trading will dues resumed on January 27.
