CAIRO - 19 December 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s session in red for the second consecutive session, amid Arab and foreign selling, and market capitalization lost LE 1.7 billion.

The benchmark EGX30 dipped 0.33 percent, or 42.91 points, to close at 13,078.2 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 declined 0.03 percent, or 0.65 points, to reach 2,154.54 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 slipped 0.05 percent, or 0.34 points, reaching 676.14 points, and the broader index EGX100 dropped 0.13 percent, or 2.26 points, to close at 1,692.85 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 1.7 billion, recording LE 744.53 billion, compared to LE 746.25 billion in Tuesday’s session.

The trading volume reached 150.96 million shares, traded through 21,528 transactions, with a turnover of LE 704.65 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 61.5 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 9.49 million and LE 52.03 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 45.94 million and LE 10.24 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 6.31 million.

Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 19.73 million, and LE 45.72 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 15.58 million.

Belton Financial Holding, Al Tawfeek Leasing Company-A.T.LEASE, and GMC Group for Industrial Commercial & Financial Investments were top gainers of the session by 6.84 percent, 5.12 percent and 5.09 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Sarwa Capital Holding, Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment, and Pyramisa Hotels were top losers of the session by 9.82 percent, 9.51 percent, and 7.29 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Tuesday’s session in red, as EGX 30 declined 0.71 percent, EGX50 decreased 0.56 percent, EGX70 inched down 0.17 percent, EGX100 went down 0.32 percent.
