CAIRO - 6 November 2018: Deputy Agriculture Minister for Animal Wealth, Fisheries and Poultry Mona Mehrez discussed with a delegation of the Algerian Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries means to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Algeria in the field of fisheries.

They also discussed measures taken to establish an Egyptian-Algerian fish farm in the Algerian city of Béchar.

During the meeting on Tuesday, Mehrez asserted the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Algeria and the importance of exchanging expertise in the field of developing marine resources as it is an important sector to achieve food security.

The Algerian delegation promised to do more to encourage Egyptian investors to invest in the fish industry in Algeria.

Both sides agreed on establishing an Egyptian-Algerian forum to boost cooperation in the fields of investment, exchange of know how and research on fisheries and fish resources.
