EGX ends mid-week session in green, market cap. gains LE 7.2B

CAIRO – 25 September 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday's session in green, and market capitalization gained LE 7.17 billion, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.11 percent, or 157.96 points, to close at 14,358.64 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 hiked 1.33 percent, or 29.40 points, to reach 2,245.72 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 increased 0.39 percent, or 2.69 points, reaching 690.50 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.58 percent, or 10.13 points, closing at 1,761.50 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 7.17 billion, recording LE 791.95 billion, compared to LE 784.78 billion in Monday’s session.

The trading volume reached 159.78 million shares, traded through 20,758 transactions, with a turnover of LE 638.79 million.

Saudi Egyptian Investment & Finance, El-Nile Co. for Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries, and Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation were top gainers of the session by 9.76 percent, 8.38 percent and 8.20 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment, Grand Investment Capital, and Cairo Poultry were top losers of the session by 9.77 percent, 4.35 percent, and 3.63 percent, respectively.

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 17.81 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 2.07 million and LE 15.73 million, respectively.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 15.22 million, LE 12.12 million and LE 59,742, respectively.

Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 13.15 million and LE 17.86 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought at LE 3.61 million.
EGX ended Monday’s session in red, and market capitalization lost LE 3.8 billion
