CAIRO - 15 MArch 2018: Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said Thursday the government will discuss during its upcoming meeting on Sunday the general budget bill of fiscal year 2018/2019 ahead of referring it to parliament in late March.

In statements before leaving Cairo for Germany for medical checkups, the prime minister said the budget targets achieving a 2% surplus of GDP, reducing deficit to 8.5% of GDP, cutting down unemployment rates through the expansion of projects and increasing exports.

He said the budget is the biggest ever in terms of funds dedicated for sustainable development, health, education and infrastructure.

The cabinet media office said in a statement that the prime minister's visit to Germany will last for 24 hours for undergoing regular medical checkups.
