EGX starts the week in Green, benchmark gains 0.98 percent

CAIRO – 28 January 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday in green, amid foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 increased 0.93 percent to reach 15,311.15 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 leveled up 0.88 percent to record 854.43 points, and the broader index EGX100 gained 0.69 percent, ending at 2030.59 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 inched up 0.58 percent to end at 2726.06 points.

Market Capitalization recorded LE 859.06 billion, up from LE 850.7 billion on Wednesday’s session.

Foreign investors were net buyers by LE 102.75 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers by LE 101.29 million and LE 1.45 million, respectively.

El Kahera El Watania Investment (KWIN), Delta for Printing and Packaging (DTPP) and Al Ezz Dekheila Steel - Alexandria (IRAX) were the top gainers of the session by 9.88 percent, 9.87 percent and 9.86 percent, respectively.

While top losers of the session were: Arafa for Investment and Consultancies (AIVC), El Kahera Housing (ELKA) and Prime Holding (PRMH) by 4.55 percent, 4.51 percent and 4.04 percent, respectively.
