CAIRO – 17 April 2017: Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr will lead Egypt’s delegation in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank (WB) Group and the International Monetary Fund, slated for April 21-23, the ministry said in a Sunday statement.

Nasr is scheduled to hold several meetings with officials from the WB and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she will focus on boosting investments in Egypt, Nasr said on Monday.

She added that she will also focus on presenting the government’s priorities to see how international financial institutions can support Egypt’s ambitious development plan.
She further said that she will follow up on the results of President Abdel-Fatah el-Sisi’s visit to the U.S. earlier this month.

The Spring Meetings comprise officials from member countries, including central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives and academics.

The meetings normally discuss issues of global concern, such as the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development and aid effectiveness.

They also include seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development and the world's financial system.
