EGX benchmark up 2.12%, indices end in positive note

CAIRO – 8 October 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday in green on Arab and Egyptian sales.

The exchange’s benchmark EGX30 jumped 2.12 percent at the end of the trading session to stand at 13,997 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 also increased 1.69 percent to end at 811 points. The broader index EGX100 leveled up 1.04 percent to close at 1,807 points.

Market capitalization hiked LE 7.9 billion Sunday to LE 776.57 billion, compared to LE 764.905 in the latest session Wednesday.

Local and foreign individuals as well as Arab institutions sold at a net value of LE 22.3 million, LE 5.7 million and LE 48.1 million respectively. Meanwhile, local and foreign institutions plus Arab individuals purchased at LE 7.98 million, LE 30.5 million and LE 37.6 million respectively.

Shares of 137 companies recorded increases and 33 companies marked declines, while shares of 13 firms remained unchanged.
