CAIRO – 23 August 2017: Egypt’s exports of special use vehicles, trucks, buses and tractors put at value exceeding $216.4 million in the period between January and May 2017, according to state official statistics authority, CAPMAS.

Imports of the aforementioned vehicles declined in the first five months of 2017, as the country’s imports of full-unit tractors dropped $70.27 million to reach $31.55 million compared to $101.83 million in the same period of the previous year.

Moreover, imports of buses and mini-buses also declined $29.50 million during the five-month period to $16.46 million after registering $45.96 million in the year-ago period.

Egypt’s imports of trucks stood at $118.07 million in the period between January and May 2017, down from $212.14 million in the same period of the previous year, retreating $94.07 million.

As for the special use vehicles, imports decreased $48.22 million year-on-year to record $50.31 million in the five months compared to $98.60 million.PFR
