CAIRO – 16 August 2017: Slums Development Fund will be developing unsafe slum areas located in north and south El Saydeen area in Ras El Bar in the governorate of Damietta, according to a released statement by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities.

The two areas are being developed as part of the country’s national project of demolishing unsafe slums. Approximately 159 families reside in the area and are expected to be transferred to eight new residential buildings, comprising of a total of 160 apartments.

Acquiring a total cost of LE 24.8 million ($1.3 million), the new homes will overlook the Nile in Ras El Bar and will also include public services and feature a touristic atmosphere. The project is expected to be implemented within 10 months.
