CAIRO – 3 February 2025: As part of his official visit to Kuwait, Hassan El-Khatib, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, met with Jawad Bukhamseen, Chairman of Bukhamseen Holding Group, to discuss the company’s current and future investments in Egypt.
The meeting focused on expansion opportunities in the Egyptian market, particularly in hospitality, finance, and restaurant management.
Minister El-Khatib highlighted Bukhamseen Holding’s existing investments in Egypt and revealed that the company is exploring further expansion in the hospitality sector, with plans to establish a new hotel project worth $125 million.
The discussions also covered Egypt’s broader efforts to enhance its business environment, making it more attractive for foreign investors.
The minister emphasized that Egypt is actively implementing economic and financial reforms aimed at facilitating investment and boosting international trade.
Key initiatives include reducing customs clearance times to just two days, introducing tax reforms to ease financial burdens on investors, and simplifying regulatory procedures by minimizing the number of government entities involved in investment projects.These measures aim to create a more streamlined and investor-friendly business climate.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering a competitive investment environment, El-Khatib noted that Egypt is continuously working to improve institutional and legislative frameworks, simplify procedures, and remove obstacles for investors.
These efforts align with the country’s long-term strategy to attract foreign capital and strengthen its position as a leading investment hub in the region.
Chairman Jawad Bukhamseen expressed the company’s strong interest in expanding its presence in Egypt, recognizing the country as a key investment destination in the Middle East and North Africa.
He also revealed that Bukhamseen Holding is currently developing two new projects in New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement, reinforcing its commitment to long-term growth and investment in Egypt.
