Cabinet approves project to protect Alexandria shores, allocating lands for projects

CAIRO – 20 July 2017: The cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, approved on Thursday a number of decisions including a project aiming to develop the shores of Alexandria.

The cabinet also agreed to allocate money to pay contractors who are implementing a national housing project in Red Sea governorate.

It also approved the establishment of el Tounsi civilized market in Cairo as well as a social housing area in Port Said. The cabinet also agreed to implement five water plants in Alexandria and Qalyubia as well as three medical centers in Mansoura University.

It initially agreed to reallocate a land plot in Aswan governorate to establish a fertilizer factory and other plots to establish a number of educational, housing and sports projects in the Upper Egypt governorate.

It also approved allocating EGP 2 million to fund environmental projects as part of the government’s efforts to implement the outcome of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris.
