Tuesday trading sees bourse fall into the red

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) fell into the red following a steady decline across all indices, with the market capitalization recorded at LE 1.339 trillion.

Benchmark index EGX 30 tumbled by 0.98 percent to close the session at 19,706.96 points.

EGX 70 similarly dropped by 0.98 percent to 3,712.45 points, while EGX 100 fell by 1.26 percent to end the session at 5,501.66 points.

Tuesday trading saw 523.78 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 1.61 billion.

Trading on securities recorded Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 174.28 million. Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with LE 172.61 million and LE 1.66 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by A Capital Holding which climbed by 14.05 percent, Misr Hotels by 10.63 percent, and The Egyptian Modern Education Systems by 6.31 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Egyptians For Investment & Urban Development which fell by 9.59 percent, Alexandria Mineral Oils Company by 7.86 percent, and Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment by 5.31 percent.
