Slums in Sayeda Zeinab to be renovated on pressured schedule

CAIRO- 19 July 2017: Governor of Cairo Atef Abdel Hamid and head of Slums Development Fund Khaled Sedik agreed to pressure the scheduled completion of the renovation of the slum areas located in Tal El Aqarab in Cairo’s Sayed Zeinab on Wednesday.

Sedik said in a statement released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities that residents of the Maspero area have been compensated and 51 families have moved to the government-owned housing project Al Asmarat, also called Tahya Misr project, out of a total of 78 families.

He also stated that regular meetings and follow ups are being held to resolve obstacles that occur on the sites of the slum areas.
