According to local media, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Antoinette Sayeh, will be visiting Cairo soon to meet with Egyptian officials regarding the government’s economic reform program.

Sayeh will meet with Egyptian officials and stakeholders to discuss the economy and reform efforts required to ensure the Egyptian economy’s stability and boost inclusive growth, explained IMF representative Said Bakhache to local media.

The deputy MD is set to attend the launch of IMF paper “Managing Fiscal Risks in the Middle East and North Africa” on Sunday. The launch is organized by the Ministry of Finance, the Economic Research Forum, and the IMF.

Her visit comes after the IMF postponed the first review of Egypt’s $3 billion loan program, citing delays in the implementation of several key conditions.

The IMF’s conditions included the introduction of a fully flexible exchange rate, accelerating its privatization programs to strengthen private sector participation, and reducing the government's role in the economy.
