CAIRO - 24 April 2023: The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed an increase in the total revenues of the Suez Canal last February, compared to the same month of last year 2022, as the value of revenues amounted to about L.E. 22.7 billion.
 
The agency showed that the revenues were about L.E. 8.6 billion in the same month in 2022, recording an increase of about L.E. 14.1 billion.
 
The revenues of the Suez Canal have recorded successive increases since the beginning of last year 2022, despite the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war on the global economy. 
 
The index continued to gradually rise to reach L.E.11.6 billion last April, then to L.E. 12 billion last May, L.E. 12.3 billion last June, and rose to L.E. 13.3 billion last July.
 
The agency’s data added that the index, last August, recorded L.E. 14.2 billion, while in last September, it recorded L.E. 13.3 billion, and rose again to L.E. 14.3 billion last October, then to L.E. 17.3 billion last November, and to L.E. 18.2 billion.
 
At the end of the year in December, the new year 2023 opened with revenues of about L.E. 23 billion, which is the largest increase from February 2022 until last February ever.
