CAIRO –  6 October 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed mixed performance during the first trading session of the week, losing around LE 5.03 billion of the market capitalization, amid Egyptian individuals selling.
  
The benchmark EGX30 declined 0.74 percent, or 83.2 points, to end at 11,179.2 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 decreased 0.26 percent, or 5.41 points, to end at 2,038.47 points.
 
On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 0.29 percent, or 6.43 points, to close at 2,219.68 points, and the broader index EGX 100 stabilized at 3,226.08 points.
 
Market capitalization lost around LE 5.03 billion, recording LE 758.05 billion, compared to LE 763.08 billion in Thursday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 702.55 million shares, traded through 38,805 transactions, with a turnover of LE 300 million.
 
Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 7.49 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 3.4 million, and LE 4.07 million, respectively.
 
Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 2.3 million, and LE 1.02 million, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net sellers at LE 20.26 million.
 
Egyptian, Arab and foreign organizations bought at LE 12.77 million, LE 1.08 million, and LE 3.05 million, respectively.
 
Paint & Chemicals Industries (Pachin), Pyramisa Hotels, and Medical Packaging Company were top gainers of the session at 19.97 percent, 19.94 percent and 16.04 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Qatar National Bank Alahly, Egyptian Iron & Steel, and Egyptian Real Estate Group were top losers of the session by 6.07 percent, 4.99 percent, and 4.98 percent, respectively.
