CAIRO - 2 November 2022: Qatari direct Investments in Egypt amount to $4 billion, according to Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatari Businessmen Association, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani.

"We are considering investing in the Egyptian health sector and other investments soon," Bin Qassem added during the Businessmen Association's discussion of investment opportunities with the Egyptian Ministry of Health.

This came according to the official account of the Qatari Businessmen Association on Twitter.

Previously, the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Hassan Abdullah, revealed, during his meeting with a delegation from the Qatari Businessmen Association, that the liberalization of the price of the pound against the dollar was done in accordance with supply and demand and would revive the Egyptian economy.

The governor stressed that the profits of Qatari businessmen in their investments in Egypt will not be subject to any control and can be transferred to anywhere and at any time, noting that a new law will be issued soon that will enable foreign banks to establish branches without the need for complicated procedures, according to the Qatar News Agency.

In October, the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI) Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani announced that trade exchange between Qatar and Egypt increased 50 percent in 2021.

The Chairman of the Qatar Chamber explained the role of the private sector in the two countries in pushing trade and economic relations forward, as this contributed to boosting trade exchange, which amounted to 239 million riyals, compared to 159 million riyals in 2020.
