UAE investments in Egypt to grow by 75% within coming 5 years - official

ABU DHABI - 23 October 2022: Secretary General of the UAE international Investors Council Jamal Aljarwan said the current UAE investments in Egypt, currently estimated at $20 billion, are likely to increase by 75 percent to hit $35 billion within the coming five years.
 
Speaking to WAM news agency on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Egyptian-UAE relations, he said the UAE is the biggest investor in Egypt at both Arab and global levels thanks to close coordination between the two countries' leaderships.
 
He expected more investments to be pumped into the Egyptian market within the coming years as a result of the current political and economic stability that assures all investors that the Egyptian market is promising.
 
He added that 1,300 UAE companies are operating in Egypt in the gas, oil, aviation, retail and wholesale trade, logistics, transport, IT, real estate, tourism and agriculture domains.
 
He reiterated the UAE companies' commitment to enhance investment partnership with Egypt after it showed resilience in face of crises.
