EGX flags in green for 2nd session in row, market cap. gains LE 11.12B

CAIRO – 5 September 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) traded in the green zone for the second consecutive session during Monday, adding around LE 11.12 billion to the market capitalization, amid Egyptian purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 increased 1.81 percent, or 180.9 points, to end at 10,177.64 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 1.55 percent, or 29.55 points, to end at 1,930.69 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 2.06 percent, or 45.06 points, to close at 2,233.52 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 2.08 percent, or 65.41 points, at 3,204.13 points.
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 11.12 billion, recording LE 695.31 billion, compared to LE 684.19  billion in Sunday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 982.51 million shares, traded through 60,497 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.6 billion.
 
Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 141.53 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 10.37 million, and LE 131.16 million, respectively.
 
Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 50.54 million, LE 9.8 million, and LE 407,213, respectively.
 
Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 531,772, and LE 131.57 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 192.07 million.
 
El Ezz Porcelain (Gemma), Telecom Egypt, and Odin for Investment & Development  were top gainers of the session at 18.81 percent, 15.78 percent and 13.88 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Arab Valves Company, Taaleem Management Services, and Naeem Holding were top losers of the session by 4.93 percent, 4.92 percent, and 3.83 percent, respectively.
 
On Sunday, the EGX ended the session in the green zone, as: EGX30 increased 0.60 percent, EGX 50 hiked 0.81 percent,  EGX 70 rose 1.07 percent, and EGX 100 climbed 1 percent.
