EGX ends mid-week session in green amid local, Arab purchases

CAIRO –  30 August 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 1.34 billion to the market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 increased 0.10 percent, or 9.83 points, to end at 10,132.15 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.26 percent, or 4.91 points, to end at 1,921.57 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.32 percent, or 7.14 points, to close at 2,216.58 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.34 percent, or 10.85 points, at 3,174.36 points.
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 1.34 billion, recording LE 690.05 billion, compared to LE 688.71 billion in Monday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 880.23 million shares, traded through 47,232 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.74 billion.
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 269.69 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 255.28 million, and LE 14.41 million, respectively.
 
Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 5.09 million, LE 5.022 million, and LE 112,731, respectively.
 
Egyptian, and Arab organizations bought at LE 260.38 million, and LE 19.43 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 269.58 million.
 
Orascom Financial Holding, Alexandria Pharmaceuticals, and Arab Valves Company were top gainers of the session at 15.47 percent, 9.53 percent and 8.59 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Zahraa Maadi Investment & Development, Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad), and Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co were top losers of the session by 4.99 percent, 4.98 percent, and 4.96 percent, respectively.
