EGX flags in green, market cap. gains LE9.3B amid local, Arab purchases

CAIRO –  17 August 2022: The Egyptian Exchange ended Wednesday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 9.3 billion to the market capitalization, amid local and Arab purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 rose 2.18 percent, or 214.95 points, to end at 10,058.12 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 1.89 percent, or 34.65 points, to end at 1,868.76 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 increased 0.55 percent, or 11.89 points, to close at 2,161.88 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 0.99 percent, or 30.25 points, at 3,095.22 points.
 
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 9.3 billion, recording LE 678.84 billion, compared to LE 669.53 billion in Tuesday's session.
 
The trading volume reached 920.48 million shares, traded through 61,966 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.87 billion.
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 180.58 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 155.95 million, and LE 24.63 million, respectively.
 
Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 24.18 million, and LE 1.36 million, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net sellers at LE 1.06 million.
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 157.01 million, and LE 453,567, respectively, while foregin organizations sold at LE 188.95 million.
 
Arab Developers Holding, B Investments Holding, and Medinet Nasr Housing were top gainers of the session at 10.43 percent, 9.69 percent and 7.50 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical, ODIN Investments, and Lecico Egypt were top losers of the session by 14.13 percent, 8.27 percent, and 5.36 percent, respectively.
