EGX ends Thursday in green, market cap. gains LE2.99B

CAIRO –  11 August 2022: The Egyptian Exchange ended Thursday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 2.99 billion to the market capitalization, amid local and Arab purchases.
 
 
The benchmark EGX30 increased 0.23 percent, or 23.38 points, to end at 9,988.84 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.63 percent, or 11.42 points, to end at 1,828.35 points.  
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 2.25 percent, or 45.25 points, to close at 2,058.62 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.74 percent, or 51.1 points, at 2,983.32 points.
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 2.99 billion, recording LE 669.54 billion, compared to LE 666.54 billion in Wednesday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 663.11 million shares, traded through 53,216 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.08 billion.
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 87.26 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 67.92 million, and LE 19.34 million, respectively.
 
Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 18.66 million, and LE 2.86 million, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were sellers at LE 4.43 million.
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 72.35 billion, and LE 674,194, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 90.12 million.
 
Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing, Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment, and Egyptian Transport (EGYTRANS) were top gainers of the session at 17.78 percent, 15.68 percent and 14.33 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical, Belton Financial Holding, and Speed Medical were top losers of the session by 15.13 percent, 7.01 percent, and 6.17 percent, respectively.
