CAIRO - 28 June 2022: The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company signed a contract with Siemens Technology Company to implement the expansion of the Suez Transformer Station, with a voltage of 500 kV, with a third transformer with a capacity of 500 MVA, a voltage of 500/220/11 kV, and the two transformer cells on both sides on a turnkey system.
 
The Ministry of Electricity said in a statement, Tuesday, that the project aims to increase the capacity of the Suez Transformer Station to feed the Suez Steel Company transformer station.
 
The project cost is about LE 37 million, in addition to €6 million as a discount on the credits of the projects of urtla-high voltage transformer stations in the Canal Electricity Zone in the budget of the fiscal year 2021-2022, with an implementation period of about 12 months starting from the date of signing the contract.
