Highlights: How Egypt increases exports to Africa’s markets

CAIRO – 18 June 2022: Egypt is currently seeking to increase its exports to international markets, and with a special scope on Africa’s markets.

 

The state aims to deepen trade exchange with the countries of the continent, especially the COMESA countries, ministries and concerned authorities to monitor the export movement on an ongoing basis and measure the effectiveness of the new program to support exports.

 

In the below lines, et highlights steps Egypt takes to bolster its exports in Africa’s markets:

 

1- The government has developed a plan and a clear vision to enter the African markets with local Egyptian products and commodities.

 

2- The vision comes to support the Egyptian presence in the continent, especially with the launch of Egyptian projects in more than one country.

 

3- Egypt has launched its first local commercial chain in Africa.

 

4- The commercial chain launched by the Egyptian private sector with great support from the government to facilitate the exit of goods from Egypt, and harnessing the Egyptian commercial offices in Africa.

 

5- The investments of the Egyptian commercial chain reach L.E. 500 million as a first stage.

 

6- By the end of 2025, Egypt will have 22 branches of its commercial chain in 6 African countries.

 

7- Egypt opens 4 branches of its commercial chain in Zambia and a branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the first time.

 

8- Egyptian products will have real spaces on the shelves of commercial chains in Africa.
