Mashat: Digital transformation necessary to reinforce food security

CAIRO - 30 May 2022: Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat has voiced her ministry's commitment to encouraging innovation and technology in all areas of development.

 

During her virtual speech at the opening of the AgriTech Meet forum, organized by the International Fund for Agricultural Development on Monday, the minister said that digital transformation has become necessary for achieving sustainable development, reinforcing food security and enhancing productivity and economic competitiveness

 

Mashat pointed out that the government is keen on developing the agricultural and ICT sectors, which were included in the second phase of the national structural reform program.

 

She added that this forum is one of the fruits of joint cooperation between Egypt and IFAD.

 

The cooperation portfolio between the government and IFAD amount to nearly $1.1 billion, through which 14 projects were funded.
