EGX flags in red Thursday, market cap. loses LE12.32B

CAIRO –  14 April 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday session in the red zone, losing around LE 12.32 billion of market capitalization, amid Egyptian and foreign selling.
 
 
 
The benchmark EGX30 declined 1.55 percent, or 167.91 points, to end at 10,679.55 points.
 
 
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 dipped 2.56 percent, or 47.76 points, to end at 1,815.16 points. 
 
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 dropped 2.09 percent, or 38 points, to close at 1,776.2 points, and the broader index EGX 100 decreased 2.31 percent, or 63.89 points, to close at 2,703.16 points.
 
 
Market capitalization lost around LE 12.32 billion, recording LE 690.48 billion, compared to LE  702.8 billion in Wednesday's session.
 
 
 
The trading volume reached 214.8 million shares, traded through 27,982 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.03 billion.
 
 
 
Arab investors were net buyers at LE 18.31 billion, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 18.31 billion, and LE 82.13 million, respectively.
 
 
 
Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 3.25 million, and LE976,324, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 21.77 million.
 
 
 
Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 40.08 billion, and LE 81.15 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought at LE 103.68 billion.
 
 
 
Cairo for Investment and Real Estate Development, Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment, and Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payment were top gainers of the session at 10.29 percent, 4.15 percent and 2.74 percent, respectively.
 
 
 
Meanwhile, Egyptian Financial Group-Hermes Holding Company, El Kahera Housing, and Alexandria Mineral Oils Company were top losers of the session by 19.98 percent, 11.26 percent, and 9.14 percent, respectively.
 
 
On Wednesday, EGX ended trading on a mixed note, EGX30 declined 0.47 percent, EGX 50 inched down 0.07 percent, while EGX 70 rose 0.25 percent, and EGX 100 inched up 0.09 percent.
