In an interview over the phone Tuesday with Al-Haya al-Youm Program on Alhayah TV, the spokesman said the Cabinet's meeting earlier in the day came following a meeting between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Saad noted that the government, upon directions from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, has taken all measures needed to ease the burden of the current global economic crisis on citizens' shoulders, through introducing a social protection package and adopting a decision to increase State employees' wages.

He also highlighted the role of Decent Life (Haya Karima) initiative in support of social development programs.

Saad pointed out to the decision to include 450,000 more families to Takaful and Karama Cash Transfer Program, in line with President Sisi's directives.

Also, he referred to the State's plan to increase the quantities of goods at the domestic market to curb price hikes.
