Finance min. says expanding 'participatory budget' nationwide to promote social engagement

CAIRO - 16 March 2022: Finance Minister Mohamed Maait asserted the state’s keenness on engaging youths and university students in the preparation of the state budget and specifying the priorities of the public spending through expanding the activities of the “participatory budget” that is implemented by the transparency and social engagement unit at the Finance Ministry.
 
While Deputy Minister of Finance for Fiscal Policies Ahmed Kouchouk said that the Finance Ministry’s transparency and social engagement unit had organized an “active citizenship club” initiative to ensure effective and sustainable communication among all social strata, especially youths.
 
Also, head of the Finance Ministry’s transparency and social engagement unit Sarah Eid reviewed the unit’s efforts to develop the budget’s transparency and enhance the participatory budget and social engagement through issuing different financial reports concerning the budget preparation process.
